Nature Education Camp

The conservation, preservation & protection of Nature are of at most importance today. Sadly, the young generation of the day is not aware of this. With a view to enlightening the youth of today, the Kerala Forest Department is conducting Nature camps at free of cost, including classes on the various aspects of Nature and field visits. Classes are handled by experts in various fields. The trekking expedition a part of any Nature camps allows one to gain firsthand knowledge and enables one to live in close communion with Nature.

Hence, we invite application from various Department of your Institution for free Nature camps, which we believe will be extremely beneficial to your students. For each 3 day camp, we can accommodate a maximum of 30 students including boys and girls (with separate accommodation facilities). Boarding and lodging are provided at our dormitories at Munnar, Chinnar, Pampadum shola and Mathikettan shola. The professional students may be directed to be beneficiaries of the nature camps. An application form is appended for further necessary actions.

Conservation education

Conservation education is an important part of information dissemination aimed at spreading the message of nature conservation. As part of this, nature awareness camps are conducted in Eravikulam National Park in the nature education centre, Munnar. The centre is equipped with facilities like TV, DVD, LCD Projector and educative materials on nature conservation. 49 nature camps were conducted in 2010-11 in which 1853 participants took part. 88% of the camps were for students and 12% for nature clubs and other organizations.
